Thiruvananthapuram: LDF councillors in the City Corporation on Saturday laid siege to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s residence at Jagathy seeking action from state government into the Vilappilsala garbage issue.
The march which started from Vazhuthacaud at 11.30 am was led by Mayor K Chandrika. Inaugurating the protest march, CPM district secretary Kadakampally Surendran alleged that the government was taking different stands in the Chelora and Vilappilsala garbage issue.
The government was trying to oppose the agitation council at Chelora and support the council at Vilappilsala. The government must immediately find a solution to the severe garbage issue, LDF councillors added.
