THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body of CPI leader C K Chandrappan, who passed away Thursday, has been taken to his native place Alappuzha. The body which was kept at the M N Memorial for the people to pay homage, left capital city by 7 am Friday morning. The body which will be kept at his family house in Vayalar for some time in the afternoon will be cremated at 6 pm at Valiyachudukad in Alappuzha with full state honours.

Many from different walks of life paid homage to the leader. Union Minister Vayalar Ravi and former minister Kadannapally Ramachandran were among those paid homage early Friday.
